Our classes are conducted by full time professional trainers and champion ring fighters, with proven training methods since 1989, under the Blackbelt Pro system which has trained over 22,000+ students, and thousands of personal trainers and instructors.

Most recently, we have expanded our classes to include FITNESS CONDITIONING, KETTLEBELL BOOTCAMP, and TRX SUSPENSION TRAINING.

How we pioneered fitness boxing in Australia

A TIMELINE HISTORY OF BLACKBELT PRO PTY LTD  

 1989 - Full time very hardcore Muay Thai and boxing gym with pro shop established by Khru Bruce Townhill in large garage at Coogee Beach Australia. Working capital to start business $500

 1990 - Membership swelled to 100 + (everyone brought along their girlfriends!)

 1991 - Gym named “Blackbelt PRO" as Khru Bruce Townhill wanted to professionally train the many Blackbelts being produced elsewhere in Sydney at that time who could not defend themselves or anyone else due to their lack of Muay Thai boxing skills.

 1992 - Moved to 5000 sq ft current location in Randwick. Sydney Australia

 1993 - Pro shop becomes discount retail force in Sydney-named “Punch Factory Outlet” after the punch brand name AAA GRADE PUNCH EQUIPMENT became a major seller above the other Thailand brands carried in the shop.

 1994 - First professional pad course was devised and implemented with 8 instructors becoming certified by Blackbelt Pro P/l –most were high profile senior doormen at Sydney major nightclubs .

 1994 – Over 45 Punchfit® Classes of boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai in operation per week, constantly researching and developing equipment and skill applications to the Fitness Industry.

 1995 - “Tested on Humans” slogan was invented and incorporated into the Gym and Equipment due to the large fighter base testing the Punch gear on a daily basis.

 1995 - Mr Bruce Townhill (chief instructor) was awarded a Khru certificate from Thailand by the authentic Muay Thai association Bangkok.

 1996 - Membership base grew to unprecedented numbers due to The Blackbelt Pro Licence system and professional pad work techniques allowing many instructors to present a quality controlled

uniform , safe, effective training system for men women and children.

 1997 - Kick pad course syllabus devised and offered in conjunction with the now very in demand Punch pad course.

 1998 - Major refit of gym as Blackbelt Pro P/L becomes the official test centre for Punch Equipment which is now exporting the  AAA Punch product around the world.

 1999 - Blackbelt Pro Fighters have a huge year with the last 50 fighters achieving a 98% win rate under the Instruction of Khru Bruce.

External recognition and accreditation achieved for the Punch pad course heralding Blackbelt Pro P/L education of the fitness industry.

 2000 - With 35 belted champions being produced from approx 200 ring fighters Blackbelt Pro P/L produces its first undefeated Superheavy Weight World Champion.

 2001 - Punchtex superior durability material is brand named after being tested for several years and found to be the most durable material ever used.

 2002 - The Kick pad course becomes externally recognized and accredited.

 2003 - International and local movie celebrities begin to call the now famous Gym ”home” along with hundreds of locals and travellers from around the world.

 2005 - National accreditation achieved for the Punch and Kick pad courses to meet heavy demand from interstate.

 Khru Bruce Townhill is awarded a master Khru (AJARN) certificate from the World Muay Thai council Thailand.

 The AAA PUNCH EQUIPMENT warehouse is completed in Sydney.

 2006 - World First-Blackbelt Pro P/L finalises 10 years of testing the Punchtex material. This allowed Punch equipment to announce in its 2006 international catalogue the worlds first limited lifetime time warranty on boxing equipment.

 2006 – Released Punchfit® Volume 1 DVD – Now a best seller within the Fitness Industry!

 2006 – The first of 150 Punchfit® levels in boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai class formats released.

 2007 – Released Punchfit® Volume 2 DVD – authentic Kickboxing pad work.

 2007 – Punchfit® Trainer Boxing course released to cater for the 1000’s of Personal Trainers entering the market.

 2008 – Released Punchfit 50 Combo Boxing Manual – Volume 1

 2008 – Punchfit Master Trainer Certificates offered at the full-time Punchfit Academy

 2008 − Punchfit® launches GX™ Level 1 Trainer Course at QPEC National Summitt Queensland.
